Our difficulties in understanding or effectuatingcommunication with other animals may arise from our reluctance to grasp unfamiliar ways of dealing with the world.

Carl Sagan
About This Quote

We humans are not alone when it comes to unappreciated or at best misunderstood communication. The same goes for the horses, dogs, birds and other animals in the world. For years, people have overlooked the way animals communicate with each other. We humans think that we are the only ones capable of making sense of the world around us.

But, when we look closely at another animal’s behavior, it is easy to see that they are just as intelligent as us. For instance, if you watch carefully, you will see that dogs use their tails to indicate to each other what they want. Horses also use their tails to communicate with each other.

Have you ever seen a horse paw at the ground with its rear end? It is communicating with its partner! Birds can be very clever too. A flock of birds can use a part of their body to make a sound called “chirping” or “crowing” or “crowing-call” which may be different from one another. It is all about communication.
